Five Important Steps To Starting Your Online Business

When I started my online business from it was both exciting and down right scary at the same time. I knew that the internet was the place to start a businessstarting your online business because of the billions that are being spent every year. After all, my website and business idea could easily draw a potential customer to my website and he or she would spend tons of money………right?  Why not my website, why not?

So I jumped into starting my business without any real plan or organization or timeline for success and soon realized that I had made some mistakes that well really slowed down my progress and results.

1. You Need To Have A Plan

I knew that I would need some guidance and training to start an online business from home. But I became overwhelmed with all the “how to” videos, reports and courses available. These things, while a great help, aren’t going to help if you don’t follow the directions and the organizational plan. Now, it’s one step at a time.  Learn one thing, use it, and on to the next step.

2. Don’t Fall For The “Shiny Object syndrome”

They call it “shiny object syndrome.” I would see something new, like the idea of making money with it, and then invest time and money into it, leaving my other businesses standing at the curb. You have absolutely no chance at the beginning if you constantly buy new opportunities and don’t actually take the steps of using them. Once you decide on something, stay focused to build one at a time.  Once you have a successful business, you can add more businesses for multiple income sources. 

3. Become Automated

Time and money are so important to you and your online business. At first, like most people, I tried to do everything myself. But I learned that investment in software that automates tasks for me was money well spent. There are tons of great software programs that will help you automate tasks. This includes email marketing, blog posting and social media posts.

4. Perfection…………..Forget About It

No one is ever perfect. And I was trying be perfect in everything I did. If I made a mistake I would be mad at myself for days, thinking that I would never recover. But I did. YOU HAVE TO REMEMBER THAT THIS IS REALLY A TRIAL AND ERROR PROCESS. Always remember that something is better than nothing, and no matter what you do can be improved later.

5. You Need To Build Your List

Make sure that you’re building an email list of prospects from day one. Every email list starts with one prospect. When somebody stops at your website for the building your listfirst time, they may leave and never to return. So, if you can get their email address, you can stay in contact with them through your email. Email marketing is still the best way to market online.

You too, will learn what really works and what doesn’t.  Keep fighting the good fight and above all…………..NEVER GIVE UP!
